What is vaginal rejuvenation?
Vaginal rejuvenation or vaginoplasty is a procedure that would tighten up vagina. Vaginal laxity, which is defined as stretching tissue and separation of muscles, usually happens as a result of child birth and aging. Vaginoplasty is used to repair and tighten up muscle layers surrounding the opening of the vagina as well as inside the vagina.
Once we determine the amount of tightness desired by the patient, an incision is made in the posterior part of vaginal opening and the tissue layers are closed and excess tissue is removed. This procedure is usually done in combination with perineoplasty which is used to repair the area between vaginal opening and anus.
