Biography

Molly has always been drawn to the full healthcare continuum. As an undergraduate, she participated in an AmeriCorps program connecting patients with non-medical social resources, which gave her an early look at how different parts of the system serve individuals. From there, she explored several paths in healthcare before landing on the one-on-one interface of direct patient care. She earned a master’s in Health Systems Management from George Mason University and spent time working in federal health systems, including a role with the Defense Health Agency in Bethesda during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She considered becoming a clinician at several points, but nothing felt like the right fit until she found midwifery. She completed her nursing and doctorate of nursing practice degrees at Columbia University, training in New York for three and a half years before returning to Virginia.

Molly describes midwifery as walking alongside women throughout their care, taking a holistic, less-medical approach grounded in the understanding that most of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are physiologically normal processes to be supported rather than managed. She brings that same lens to more complex OB/GYN care. She has a particular interest in fertility awareness methods and the biomarkers involved in tracking women’s cycles.

Outside of work, Molly is a mother of three. Her family lives in Northern Virginia, and she and her husband enjoy spending time with friends and family, visiting beaches up and down the East Coast, and staying active outdoors together.
