Biography

Dr. Zohreh Nikkhah Abyaneh brings more than two decades of experience and a deep personal commitment to women’s health. Board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), she provides comprehensive care for women at every stage of life, from adolescent gynecology and family planning through pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause management.

Dr. Abyaneh earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Before entering medicine, she completed two years of midwifery training in Iran, an experience that shaped her patient-centered approach and her appreciation for the full arc of women’s reproductive health.

Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of obstetric and gynecologic care, including management of fibroids, abnormal bleeding, ovarian cysts, and complex surgical procedures such as hysterectomy. She has conducted research in laparoscopy and endometrial ablation, with published findings in these areas. Dr. Abyaneh is affiliated with Inova Fairfax Hospital and Sentara Potomac Hospital.

Known for her warm, attentive manner, Dr. Abyaneh is committed to building lasting relationships with her patients and ensuring every woman feels heard and supported. She is fluent in English and Farsi.
